Easy way to cook lobster tails so they are soft and juicy.
Just 2 minutes in the instant pot is all it takes. Defrost the lobster tails first in the fridge.
Enjoy with the fresh basil garlic butter basted and for dipping each bite into.
Cook to fit 4 small lobster tails or 2 big, depending on your size of instant pot.
Serve a side dish of the lemon, garlic butter dipping sauce. It is absolutely delicious!
Cut right down the center of the shell using kitchen scissors. Cut down until you reach the top of where the tail fin begins. Using a small spoon, push under the shell to separate the meat from the shell. Make this easier when you go to eat it.

Instant Pot Basil Garlic Butter Lobster Tails – Dairy Free
Easy way to cook lobster tails so they are soft and juicy.
2 minutes in the air fryer is all it takes after defrosting in the fridge.
Enjoy the fresh basil butter dipping sauce. Use a plant-based butter if possible.

- Instant Pot
- Small sauce pan
- Kitchen scissors
- Spoon, fork
- 1 tsp, tbsp, cup
- 2-4 2 large or 4 small Lobster Tails frozen – allow to defrost in the fridge
- 1 cup water
- 1 Garlic cloves crushed
- 4 tbsp Butter – plant-based if possible
- 1 Handful fresh basil chopped
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 1/8 tsp Ground Black Pepper
- 2 tsp Nutritional yeast

Prepare the defrosted lobster tails by using kitchen scissors. Carefully cut them through the center of the hard shell just before where the tail fin begins.
Pull apart the hard shell. You may need to use a small spoon to lift and separate the meat from the shell. Pull out meat but leave base intact, and place it on top of the split shell.

Prepare the basil garlic butter. Add the butter, garlic, basil, black pepper and nutritional yeast to the small sauce pan. Set on medium low heat to just melt the butter and mix everything together. Remove from stove.
Brush on the lemon butter mix to the meat of the tails. And pour the rest into serving dipping bowls.

Add the water to the bottom of the instant pot. Add the trivet.
Place the prepared lobster tails onto the trivet.
Place the lid onto the instant pot, slide it clock wise to close and lock. Then turn the pressure valve to the “SEALING” position.
Press the “MANUAL” button, then press the “PRESSURE” button so the “PRESSURE HIGH” lights up, and then press the minus or plus button to 2 minutes. It will take approximately 10 minutes to pressurize.

When the instant pot beeper goes off, wait until the silver pressure dial drops before removing the lid.
Use tongs to take out the lobster tails and place them on a serving dish.
Serve immediately with melted basil garlic butter, and lemon or lime wedges on the side.
