
Easy to make Gluten Free Croutons that add the crunch to any soup or salad.
The joy of a eating warm soup for me is by adding some gluten free crackers, or even some of my home made gluten free croutons to give it that added crunchiness.
Even add to a salad for a crunch herb taste. So easy to make in 10 min or make ahead of time.
I’ve tried a lot of gluten free breads, and i have to say, not all of them are my favourite. So instead of throwing it out, i simply made them into croutons. They can be stored in a container in the fridge for the week, or freeze them.
In our house, we always have a loaf of gluten free bread in the freezer. My favourite is the Little Northern Bake house Gluten free bread. Sometimes Costco has them fresh, or my local grocery store has them in the freezer section. For a Gluten free rye bread, then I usually get the Canyon Bake house Rye bread.
But if you have found a gluten free bread that you like, then give this recipe a try which only takes 4 slices.
Croutons Gluten Free Recipe
An easy tasty recipe that takes only 10 min.
- 3 cups Gluten Free Bread (approx 4 slices) (130g)
- 3 tbsp Vegan Butter if avoiding dairy or Olive Oil
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 pinch salt optional

Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit or 218 degrees Celsius

If using Vegan Butter, slowly melt the butter in a small pan on low heat

Line a large baking pan with parchment paper

For the bread, cut them all into bite size pieces and place them in a big mixing bowl

In a small bowl, whisk together the melted vegan butter or olive oil with the Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Add Salt to taste if desired.

Slowly drizzle this seasoned butter oil mix over the bread pieces and then mix and toss them together with 2 large spoons.

Place these bread pieces onto the parchment lined baking pan and spread them out evenly so they are not overlapping each other.

Place the baking pan into the heated oven and cook for 10 minutes. After 5 minutes use tongs to flip the croutons around.

Check if they are toasting nicely but not burnt. Once they are toasted take out the baking pan and leave on the stove for 5 minutes to cool down and harden the croutons even more.

Enjoy in your soups or salads. Stores well in a container for 5 days
