Welcome to Nutriment Health & Fitness!

I’m Julie-Ann, a Registered Holistic Nutritionist since 2012 specializing in Digestive Disorders, Food Allergies, Sensitivities, Symptoms of gas, bloating, constipation and other symptoms.

Why did I become a Nutritionist?

Before I became a Holistic Nutritionist and Fitness Trainer, I had a trainer, entered fitness competitions, and knew my food intake was an important key factor to helping me support my goals.

My diet contained a lot of Egg Whites, Whey protein shakes, protein bars, protein focused dairy products like Greek yogurt, cottage cheese and energy creating carbs like whole grain breads.

The only problem, I was bloated all the time! How could this be ? I was told to eat these foods, and they were good for me! So what was happening to me ?!

That’s when I started myself on an “Elimination Diet” by testing each food one by one, week by week, until I came to realize that those healthy foods that I thought were good for me, were actually aggravating my Digestive System. They were causing lots of inflammation !  So, no wonder why my stomach was always extended and I always felt uncomfortably bloated !

This is when my frustration became my mission, my journey to become a professional in Nutrition to help others overcome these challenges.

Helping individual’s by:

  • creating new easy meals/snacks based around their food preferences, avoiding their food allergies, intolerance’s, sensitivities
  • creating new delicious substitute meals/snacks
  • overcoming stomach and digestive issues
  • supporting goals of weight loss/gain
  • learning how to continually maintain this diet for ongoing health
  • reach health goals !
  • and finally, feeling over all better !
How can I help you and your specific individual health issues or goals?

So many of you just want to be at your healthiest or feel better, and are currently working hard towards those goals, or you have been told to cut out certain foods, or are on a special diet, or maybe just don’t know where to start !!!

Whatever your reason, I have created Nutriment Health & Fitness to bring hope, motivation and to inspire people like yourself, with guidance creating easy, quick meals, snacks, as well as providing tools, resources, tips and tricks to prepping and avoiding wasted food.

A Question I am often asked:
What do I NOW eat for breakfast?

This is easily the most asked question I receive. With my busy work schedule that requires I wear numerous hats such as, Nutriment’s food recipe designer, developer, content creator, food stylist, and photographer/video creator; there is not much time in the morning for me to have a complete Breakfast… Therefore, I make a healthy quick meal knowing that I MUST  break the overnight fasting, which then fires up my energy and digestive enzymes to start the day!

An example of these quick meals are that, I start most days with Almond milk chai tea latte and a bowl of fruit with coconut yogurt and little crunch from some Gluten-Free no processed sugar Granola. Weekends I have a little more time, so I would enjoy a few whole eggs and lightly stir fry up whatever veggies I find in the fridge, or I could also find some left overs to heat up.

Yes, definitely Breakfast can be a challenge for most people, so I have created a breakfast page with some great ideas to help you!
