Perfect Instant Pot Brown Rice

Equipment

  • Instant Pot or pressure cooker
  • 1 fine strainer
  • 1 cup
  • 1 fork

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Brown Jasmine or Basmati Rice
  • 1 cup Cold Filtered Water must be cold

Instructions
 

  • Rinse the Rice in a fine strainer under cool water until water runs clear. Use your fingers to move the rice around. Remove from the running water and shake out most of the remaining water. Then add the rice to the instant pot.
  • Add Water to Instant Pot making sure all the rice is under the water.
  • Close lid and turn clock wise to lock. Set the Venting knob to "VENTING" position.
  • Press "MANUAL", and plus or minus button to read 15 minutes or press the rice button. The instant pot will begin to start to pressurize which takes approximately 10 minutes.
  • Once the timer goes off, wait until the silver pressure dial drops (approx LO:15 on the screen). Put on an oven glove to manually release the steam. Once the steam has been released and the silver pressure dial drops, then slowly open the lid and put aside. Take care of the hot steam.
  • Use a fork to fluff up the rice. Rice is already to serve!
