Easy Creamy Rice Pudding Recipe Vegan Gluten Free

A deliciously creamy dessert for everyone to enjoy. This recipe is completely plant-based, dairy free, and gluten free.

In this recipe I used Unsweetened Oat Milk, which is one of the creamiest of the plant-based milks.

The rice texture is slightly firm, with a sweet creamy, holiday season cinnamon spice flavour.

Basmati is the best for rice pudding. You could also use Jasmine White Rice. Do not use a brown rice for this recipe.

OPTIONAL TOPPINGS:

This Creamy Rice Pudding is absolutely delicious on its own. But if you need to add a bit more chewy or crunch then here are a few ideas.

  • Almonds or Almond Slivers (good protein)
  • Pumpkin Seeds
  • Sesame Seeds
  • Hemp Hearts (good protein)
  • Chia Seeds (good protein)
  • Dairy Free Chocolate Chips is great for Children to enjoy
  • Raisins are a classic addition

DIET:

If you are on my weight management program, portion is 1/2 cup and add in a 1 tbsp of protein. Examples would be Hemp Hearts, Chia seeds, and Almonds.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Basmati Rice You can use Jasmine as well. Not suitable for brown rice

  • 1/4 tsp Himalayan or Sea Salt ground

Drain the water in the pot, and put the rice back into the pot.
  • Set pot on stove with rice, and add in all the ingredients. Mix well together.
Set on stove on medium low. Allow to come to a calm simmer, then turn down to low. Stir frequently.
It will start to thicken up within 20 minutes.
Remove from heat and let sit for 10 minutes.
  • Serve hot or cold.
  • Allow to cool. Store in fridge in container for up to 2 days.
